僕はかろうじて英語で仕事をしているけど、議事録やプレゼンPPTなどのシンプルな英語ばかりで、リッチな文章はおぼつかない。読めばわかる表現は多くても自分で使えない。なので、英語で何かを書くととても短くなる。
議事録などはソレで構わないのだけど、ブログや「ストーリーを送ってくれ」と言われると困る。
英作文では雑に書いたらHappyとかGoodみたいなことしか出てこない表現を、何種類もの表現で置き換える（パラフレーズ）することを求められる。内容が勝手に変わっていると困るが、そういう表現をいくつも思いつくのは面倒なので、ChatGPTに文案つくってもらって書き直すのはよい手段だと思う。

今回はMaker Faire Shenzhenの運営から「あなたとメイカーフェア深圳のかかわりストーリー、Makerが自分のキャリアに与えたもの、今年のメイカーフェアに期待するもの」などを求められた。
飛行機の中とかで、雑に書いた英文はこんな感じだ。

I’m Takasu, Japanese maker, Open hardware guy. I joind more then 140 maker event at past ten years, I’m the most experienced person of these activity. And I moved in Shenzhen from 2018, I`m Shenzhenees now.

I`m Co-founder of Nico-Tech Shenzhen community with Gerald Fu. We are Shenzhen tech enthusiast from Japan and other country, more then three thouthand in Facebook.

I felt a lot of enegy from Shenzhen Maker industry, then I will join orgnize team Maker Faire Shenzhen 2015 and invite mamy bliliant makers from Japan and international. And I orgnized Japanese Otaku Style geek dance party AKIPARTY at A8 Music hall, the front of Tencent Headquater.

After nine years, we Japanese makers are inportant part of MakerFaire Shenzhen. Japanese maker parsitipate MFSZ will be bigger past 9 years, we Japanese team on MFSZ more then 30 booth and over 100 parsitipate, and unforgettable beer party at Baishizhou. We Japanese maker care for Shenzhen all the time.

I also care for Shenzhen all the time, I started research about hardware innovation in Shenzhen with some my friend such as Bunnie Huang, I`m walking inside open-source field and Shenzhen Hardware ecosystem now.

I moved to Shenzhen from 2018, I changed the job same time from Art collective to Open Source Hardware company Switch Science. Now I support ed some Shenzhen hardware company such as M5Stack, Elephant Robotics, and of cource Seeed. I found my job and lifework on Maker Faire.

My story at least 10 years are almost same things as Maker Faire Shenzhen, and This is evidence How Maker change own life include professional career.

Meanwhile, This story also evidence about diversity in Shenzhen and Openness for MakerFaire Shenzhen community.

During the Maker Faire Shenzhen, I was captivated by the energy and innovation emanating from the city’s thriving maker industry. This led me to join the organizing team for the Maker Faire Shenzhen 2015, where I had the honor of inviting numerous brilliant makers from Japan and around the world to showcase their creations. Moreover, I organized an unforgettable event, the Japanese Otaku Style geek dance party known as AKIPARTY, right in front of the Tencent Headquarters at the A8 Music Hall.

Fast forward nine years, and Japanese makers have become an integral part of the Maker Faire Shenzhen. Year after year, our presence has grown exponentially, with more than 30 booths and over 100 participants representing the Japanese maker community. We have forged deep connections, shared knowledge, and celebrated our shared love for making. And let’s not forget the legendary beer party at Baishizhou, where we gather to toast to Shenzhen and the enduring spirit of making.

My love for Shenzhen extends beyond the maker events and parties. I have delved into researching hardware innovation in Shenzhen alongside esteemed friends like Bunnie Huang. Together, we explore the vast world of open-source hardware, immersing ourselves in the Shenzhen hardware ecosystem. This journey has led me to switch my career path from the art collective to joining Switch Science, an open-source hardware company. Now, I have the privilege of supporting Shenzhen-based hardware companies such as M5Stack, Elephant Robotics, and the renowned Seeed. Through these experiences, I’ve discovered not just a job but a true lifework, all rooted in the magic of Maker Faire.

Reflecting on the past ten years, I’ve come to realize that my story mirrors the very essence of Maker Faire Shenzhen itself. It’s a testament to the transformative power of the maker movement, capable of reshaping one’s professional career and entire life. But beyond that, it exemplifies the diversity and openness of the Shenzhen maker community. ChatGPTのほうが、こういうとき（ストーリーだしてくれ）に向いた英文になっているように思う。その後、Grammalyなどで目的（カジュアルかフォーマルか、友達向けかなど）に合わせて文法を直し、自分的に微妙な表現を治してから提出することにした。

文体を機械にGenerateされるのは気持ち悪さがあるが、僕の英語力はそういうレベルに達していないし、機械の力で候補を出してもらうのは良いやり方だと思う。
